Our Tall Women-Friendly Shoe Picks for Fall 2018

This is a little bit of a different post than we normally do for our Amalli Talli blog. BUT, we get asked quite a bit about the shoes we wear in our pictures and where we find them, what size, etc etc. so we thought it would be fun to put together a post about it! Shoe shopping as tall girls and women can be rough – so if we can pass along any brands or styles that may work for you, we’re all about it. Plus, we both have different sizes that we wear, so we felt like we could highlight some good styles that could potentially work for everyone! Sidebar, everything we picked and noted is from Nordstrom, which is not for any specific reason it just happened that way. They didn’t sponsor this in any form (dang, haha!). We also wrote these independently without telling the other one what our picks were and from where. But they have been a retailer that we learned years ago caters to a larger size so we are just conditioned to shop their site and Nordstrom Rack first. Fun fact: we had originally intended to sell shoes when we opened back in the day, but for many reasons we ultimately decided against it. It’s not something that makes sense for the time being, but who knows what the future may hold.

Amy’s Picks

Brice Notched Bootie by BP

Bootie styles this season are taking on more of a western flair and I thought this pair was super cute. I actually already purchased them in the color below and they are great. The sizing info said they run small and to order a size up….but I’m not sure I agree with it. I ordered a size 13 and was torn on whether to keep or exchange down for the 12. I stuck with the 13 in case I needed to put some thicker socks on during the winter, though. MN and all. :)

At Ease Loafer Mule by Free People

This is a style that is currently in my shopping cart – but I plan on purchasing soon in the beige color pictured! I have a pair of black mules already, so this would be a nice second option for a color. Mules are so easy to wear and therefore, I get a ton of use out of them. I love this pair from Free People because I like the snakeskin detail and overall minimal vibe to them. Truth be told I’ve never worn Free People shoes before so I can’t vouch for their fit, but the info says they fit TTS so fingers crossed!

Majorca Sandal by TOMS

TOMS is another brand that I’ve had pretty good luck with from a fit perspective! I just recently ordered this pair because I wanted to wear them with both dresses and jeans & they are way cute. The size 12 was perfect for me and I bought them in the natural color.

Bylando Flats by Lucky Brand

I have had a pair of leopard flats for years but sadly, I have finally worn them out. So I’ve been on the hunt for a replacement pair and I’m going to pull the trigger on this one. Again, I love how Lucky Brand fits me and this style would look cute with a variety of jean styles. It’s funny because I’m not necessarily a leopard enthusiast in the rest of my life, but I think leopard flats are a fun shoe to add to an outfit. I wear them so often!! I’m also feeling that mustard color though….so I might need two.

Alli’s Picks

Charlin Bow Mule by Jeffrey Campbell

I love the simple details of this mule that elevate the style. I've been eyeing a bow mule, and I love the cut-out for something different, too. I'm a big fan of the mustard color because I think it's a fun fall accent color to pair with neutral tops - white, greys, browns, blacks and stripes! Size up one, run small.

Acre Bootie by BC Footwear

I've been looking for an edgier, moto style bootie. Love this one with the buckles! A more casual style bootie. And just enough of a stacked heel, but not too much. Runs TTS.

McKay Slip-On Sneaker by Jack Rogers

Again, I would LOVE these to pair with neutrals on top, which is pretty much what I wear every day! And I love a no frills slip-on sneaker - they look great with so many items in your closet. Jeans, leggings and simple dresses. I think they would be so cute with our striped t-shirt dress. Runs large, size down.

Valencia Peep-Toe Bootie by UGG

This color is oh so versatile in the fall. Not to mention the style pairs well with skinny jeans and again - dresses! I wore a similar style when shooting with our Sable Dress. It's a little higher heel, but hey - sometimes you just gotta own it! Runs TTS. Let us know if you try any and how they work!! Amy & Alli
