The Best Travel Clothes for Tall Women
The holidays are fast approaching, and for many of us that means some form of traveling is involved. Although we can't control the legroom on the plane (*curses silently*), we can help you feel your best in the clothes you're wearing. No matter where you are jetting off to, our picks below will help ensure that your transit is as comfortable and stylish as possible. The cherry on top? You'll continue to get so much wear out of these versatile pieces post traveling!
Bon voyage, and prayers up for an exit row seat, sis! Scroll through to see our top clothing picks for traveling:
Jacket or Cardigan
Layers, layers, and layers are the key to having a comfortable travel today. Amy and I just flew back to Minneapolis from Charleston last week – what started as a lovely 65 degree departure turned into a brisk 12 degree landing. The temperature swing on the plane was painful. We were chilled to the bone. Thank goodness we both had one of our jackets on hand! Having a versatile, comfortable and warm layer that you can take on and off makes all the difference. We recommend our teddy jacket or knit cardigan for such an occasion. Not only are these pieces plush enough to cuddle up and sleep in – they are designed with an incredibly important factor: extra sleeve length. After all, it’s impossible to feel warm and cozy when the sleeve doesn’t offer full coverage for your arms, right?
Basic Top
On the flip side, it’s also entirely possible in the course of your day that the temps will swing the opposite way. When you start to feel warm and want to ditch the jacket, you’ll want to make sure that you have a comfortable base layer on underneath. The key here is to find a top that coordinates with your jackets and cardigans, but that you can also feel good about wearing solo. For that reason, we love our favorite crew long sleeves and our striped v-neck long sleeve. These basics are a tall girl’s dream! Our favorite crew long sleeves are even designed with an extra lining so that you don’t have to worry about pairing them with a nude bra or camisole underneath. Score!
Scarf
Add another layer, but make it fashion! An accessory like a scarf can easily tie your outfit together but can also serve as a lap blanket or worn for extra warmth. We linked some fun options from other retailers here!
Leggings
Because nobody wants to wear real pants when traveling, right? Our black moto leggings offered in tall inseams are here to save the day! Made with luxe fabric from the same mills as other popular atheisure brands, these leggings are ultra-comfortable, super on trend – but don’t cost you a fortune. Bonus: they pair with just about anything in your closet. You'll love these long leggings for much more than just traveling! Oh, and I can't forget the most important piece - they have POCKETS!! So clutch.
(PS: If you are more of a denim gal, our new jeans for tall women are super comfortable and travel worthy, too!)
Sweatshirt
If you feel like coordinating a top, jacket and scarf are too much, then may we recommend a simple sweatshirt option instead? Our newest sweatshirt has the dreamiest cowl neck that feels just as cozy as a scarf, and besides, it’s just wicked cute. It is 100% a match made in heaven for our moto leggings! Long sleeves paired with long inseams?? YAS, sis! We got you!
Sneakers (or other comfy shoes)
I went rogue last week and wore high heeled over the knee boots on my flight home. It was an absolute nightmare for my knees. 0/10 do not recommend. Sneakers are by far the most comfortable option for traveling. Not only are they comfy and keep your toes toasty, but you’ll be glad you wore socks with them when forced to ditch your shoes in airport security lines. We linked some fun sneaker options for tall girls (in larger sizes) from other retailers below. Also, if you didn't know, we have an Amazon shop where we link all kinds of shoes for you to browse!
